The Pokemon and Moves:
First off there the everlasting question of what Pokemon is the strongest right??? Naturally you would think that it's a legendary Pokemon, but you'd be wrong this guy is:
Yup that's right Shuckle is the only Pokemon that can do a total of 481,266,036 points of damage!!!!
Pokemon can actually die! This one puzzled me for years too. Do Pokemon actually age? Can one die of old age? Would it be like pushing a level 100 Pokemon to level up further? Or is it the idea of the Nuzzlock challenges where you release fainted Pokemon? So basically you left it there fainted with no way of revival. This still doesn't make sense to me.....
You can capture the Pokemon god! Yup you can actually catch Arceus the god of all Pokemon.
Genderless Legendary Pokemon are up next. These Legendaries that are depicted (Meloetta, Diancie, Creselia, Darkrai, & Manaphy) have no gender despite their looks or titles. Darkrai and Creselia are the "dream" Legendaries from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum (D/P/P), these two look like they should be the polar opposite of each other since Darkrai feeds off of nightmares and Creselia wakes you up from those nightmares. Also the anime movie with these two gave them the sense of gender we were looking for. Manaphy is also from D/P/P and is known as the Prince of the Sea, however "he" is genderless.... Diancie and Meloetta are very feminine in their appearance despite being genderless.
Both Lugia and Palkia have types that don't make any sense. Palkia is suppose to be the Pokemon god of space however it's typing is Water/Dragon, hm that doesn't seem right. And Lugia is the guardian of the sea, yet its typing is Psychic/Flying. Also Palkia can't learn the TM fly....
Magcargo's pokedex entries state that its body is hotter than the surface of the sun, so why doesn't burn everything in sight when its outside of it's pokeball?
Gallade and Gardevoir don't make much sense either. You can get male Gardevoirs in the game however its impossible to get a female Gallade. At the point that they came out with Gallade, you should have done away with the male Gardevoirs or made it where you could be female Gallade by the same evolution steps with a female Kirla.
Females of this evolution line do not compute. They have no differences from the male line, and clearly the Machop line was designed to be male. Why didn't they go with just males on this line like they did with the Hitmons (Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Himontop, Tyrogue) ?
Here's another set of Pokemon where the gender makes no sense. Female Mr. Mimes, Slowbros, Slowkings, and Geodudes make no sense due to they're English names. And Lopunny looks feminine, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to give it no differences from male and female.
This group of pokemon can learn moves that don't have a drop of sense. Wooper and Shroomish can learn punching moves, but don't have any hands. Diglett can learn scratch and slash, but doesn't seem to have any claws. Primape can learn Iron Tail though it lost its tail in evolution. Doduo and Dodrio can both learn the TM fly despite having no wings. Another example of this would be Tryanitar, which is a Rock/Dark type, can learn the TM Surf.
The next group of Pokemon can't learn certain moves. most of the winged bug type Pokemon cannot learn the TM fly. Gyarados can't learn any flying type moves despite its second type being flying. Growlithe doesn't learn the move growl even though it's in its name. Lickitung couldn't learn lick in the generation I games (Red/Blue/Green/Yellow). Emboar's pokedex entry states that it uses the fire on its chin to set its fist on fire for attack however it wasn't until the next generation (5 vs 6) was it able to learn fire punch. Likewise Kecleon couldn't learn the move Camouflage until Gen VI.
All these Pokemon are smaller than you, but can carry you around via the TM's surf and fly. Also on a side note, in the Anime Ash must be a body builder to lift several Pokemon that weigh a lot more than 5 pounds!
Despite having not just two, but three cannons Mega Blastoise attacks with its mouth not its cannons.
Where exactly do the stars for the move swift come from and where to the Pokemon store them when not using the move?
Haze is an Ice type move, however not a single Ice type Pokemon can learn it. Mostly Poison types learn it making more sense that Haze should be poison type move not an ice type move.
In HeartGold/SoulSilver your Pokemon could walk along side you. So it never made sense how large Pokemon could fit into buildings outside of Gyms and Pokemon Centers.
Bulbasaur is not the very first Pokemon. Yeah I know what you're thinking "Bulbasaur is the first in all Pokedexes!" And while that's true, Bulbasaur was not the first Pokemon created, Rhydon is which is why there's statues of this Pokemon everywhere in the Kanto games (Gen I).
People and Other Things:
Have you ever wondered where exactly your "mother" sleeps in the games? Think about it most of the earlier generations' main trainer houses only had two rooms: yours and the kitchen/dinning room. Maybe your mother sleeps on your bed while your gone....
Isn't sad that Professor Oak can't remember the name of his own grandson, but he knows when you are trying to ride your bike in a "no" zone.
And speaking of that bicycle, as a Pokemon trainer you have one magical bag to fit all of what it does including the bike! Or in the case of Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire two bicycles!
And another note on the bike is this guy, who tries to sell you one for a million pokedollars! you litterally cannot get that much in the game! You max out, as shown in the picture, at 999,999 pokedollars.
This is a Pokemon Egg almost all Pokemon can produce this egg when a couple of them are left at the day care. So why is the Day Care Man always surprise to find one when you leave your Pokemon with him and his wife so they can breed in order to make an egg!
This is Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket and the final Gym Leader from the Generation I games (G/R/G/Y/FR/LG). Giovanni is technically a good guy since he's trying to steal the silph scope and master ball in order to capure Mewtwo.
Cyrus, the leader of Team Galactic from Pokemon Black/White, says he doesn't make friends with his Pokemon. But then how does he have a Crobat, which needs high friendship in order to get?
Lastly why does your Rival from Generation II (Gold/Silver/Crystal/HeartGold/SoulSilver) hate Team Rocket so much? Well, you don't find out that information unless you read the Manga, Pokemon Adventures, or activate the Celebi event in HG/SS you get the cut scene that explains it. His father is Giovanni from Generation I, so he's got a lot of daddy issues.
I know there's a lot more things that don't make sense within the games and the anime of Pokemon, but these might be some of my top picks.
-FoxCat ya later.
